Hip-Hop Artist Marty Grimes Coming February

Hip-Hop will once again grace the stage of Rock City Studios after a run of fantastic local and national Hip-Hop shows during 2017.  

On Sunday, February 25, 2018, with doors at 7:00 pm, Numbskull Shows, in conjunction with Rock City Studios, present the Marty Grimes Cold Pizza Tour 2018.  $12 Advance tickets can be purchased online via Ticketweb .

Rock City Studios is an all ages venue and is a short drive North on the 101 from Los Angeles. Located 101 freeway close with free and easily accessible parking. If you make a day of it, Camarillo features one of the largest premium factory outlet malls in the Country, a variety of great restaurants close by, and Malibu beaches just down the road a bit.

Marty Grimes Cold Pizza Album and 2018 Tour

Marty Grimes is out with a newly released 10 song record titled “Cold Pizza.”  Marty Grimes is from Berkeley, CA. Two tracks, “Pac Man” and “Sike!” feature a collaboration of fellow Bay Area artists Rexx Life Raj and P-Lo respectively.

Fun facts:

• Both of those collaborating artists, Rexx Life Raj and P-Lo, performed at Rock City Studios last year.
• Marty is a partner of a Gioia Pizzeria in Berkeley where he has worked off and on since he was a teenager.  His favorite pizza there is spinach, garlic and chili flakes. He is planning his own branded pizzeria as well.

Hip-Hop Surpasses Rock In Popularity

Hip Hop is ruling the music world in the United States according to Nielsen’s year-end report on the music industry.  Hip Hop has apparently recently surpassed rock as the most popular genre. A 72 percent increase in on-demand Hip-Hop genre streaming forged the path to the increased popularity.

For example, on March 9, 2011, Grammy winning Macklemore and his producer Ryan Lewis performed at Rock City Studios during their first tour.
